The 6th Annual “Bowling for Bread” event benefitting Boca Helping Hands is August 26, 2012 at Strikes Bowling on Military Trail in Boca Raton from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Lanes are filling up, donations are coming in and everyone involved is working diligently to make it the best tournament ever. Bowling for Bread, a Boca Festival Days event, challenges local businesses and individuals to sponsor lanes and bowl against each other.

Volunteer extraordinaire, LouAnn Such said, “The idea is that local companies and families will build a little friendly competition and come back to compete year after year.”

This is a wonderful opportunity to reach out to the children in our community. Consider sponsoring a lane for underprivileged children. We would like to see this year’s event filled to the brim with individuals, families and children, enjoying an afternoon of fun, food and bowling! There will be a friendly competition where the best bowlers are recognized.  Boca Helping Hands will invite children from local non-profits to bowl on our sponsored lanes.

We are encouraging players, friends and corporations to bring food to our Bowling for Bread Food Drive. This year we are asking everyone who attends to bring as many nonperishable food items as they can. We especially need cereal, boxes of macaroni and cheese, canned meats and tomato products. These items are needed throughout the year. Our BHH truck will be there to carry back, hopefully, tons of food.

Boca Helping Hands is reaching out to the community in conjunction with Boca Festival Days. Why not spend the dog days of summer with Boca Helping Hands and other members of our community. Corporate Sponsorship and Lane Sponsors (for underprivileged children) are available. Please consider sponsoring a lane or an individual child for an afternoon of fun and games! The proceeds from this event benefit Boca Helping Hands.

We hope to see you, HAVING A BALL, at Boca Helping Hands 6th Annual Bowling for Bread.
